Inspired by the origins of its name QuayStreet, we looked to a time when merchant ships crowded the harbour, quays were gateways to the vast warehouses and busy market places populated by traders of every kind. A clove hitch is a knot that sailors would use, and still do, when tying their boat to the bollard on the quay and it's a sound metaphor for strength and security. The QuayStreet logo is a representation of the ‘Sailors Hitch’ with its looping form creating a "Q".
